Welcome to the Week In Review, where you can wind down the weekend by kicking back and checking out what’s been cropping up on our radar this past week in the world of carry. We’re checking out a cool and compact carry alternative when cyclist messengers and packs are more than you need, a new collection with an interesting use of denim, the Rambo cousin to the standard iPad sleeve and a canvas daypack that can weave between work and play…

Compact carry for your bike
Acorn Bags is a husband and wife team based in California who focus exclusively on creating bicycle bags. Their Small Handlebar Bag offers stylish looks with a compact size that is ideal for carrying small items such as your wallet, phone or a water bottle. The bag is made out of Martexin Original Wax Twill and English Bridle leather, with a wooden brace inside the zippered main section. The bag has stabilising cords and leather mounting straps, with a leather strip on the back panel to protect against wear and tear from abrasion. All in all, a handy option when larger carry options are overkill.
Denim delights
We’ve touched on Everlane before but now they have a new collection on offer that has a little bit of a fabric twist with smart looks and wallet-friendly pricetags. The Reverse-Denim Collection includes a weekender, backpack and small zip pack (daypack), as well as a tote and dopp kit (which are currently sold out). The items are constructed out of – you guessed it – reverse denim, with leather for the straps/handles and zip pulls.
Canvas city chic
Ally Capellino’s 13-inch Canvas Rucksack is a little bit of urban chic for your everyday carry needs. The pack is made from 16 oz cotton canvas with leather detailing and adjustable padded straps. There is a padded laptop pocket that holds up to a 13″ MacBook Pro, with a front zippered pocket (in which there is a slip pocket for your phone).
Combat carry (for your iPad)
You get military feel backpacks and weekenders but how about a military feel iPad sleeve? Not the sort of thing you see everyday in the world of iPad sleeves, ORCA Tactical’s Hazard 4 Launch Pad iPad sleeve is made out of DuPont Cordura with PALS webbing on the back. You can attach items directly to the webbing or alternatively opt for pouches that can hold whatever you need to have on hand (possibly accessories for your iPad or EDC items). There’s also a corner steel ring for attaching the likes of carabiners or keyrings.
Taking the QWSTION Media Pack for a spin
Got your eye on QWSTION’s Media Pack? Designed for DJs and people who want designated music carry, the pack holds up to a 17-inch laptop and up to 50 vinyl records. Check out our road test courtesy of guest tester and DJ Adam Biesiot who put the pack through its paces.
